The University of Roehampton have been chosen as the Pot Noodle Society of the Month for September! 

We spoke to their president, Pavlo Perchyk, and vice president, Amin, to find out more...

 

Congratulations on being selected as our Pot Noodle Society of the Month! Could you tell us a little bit about what Roehampton got up to? 

Our society had gotten up to a bunch of different events over the course of September. From multiple scrims, party game nights, watchparties, Sim Racing, and many social events, to finally conclude the month with trials to see which teams will represent us for NSE!

Lots of different things going on then! How important was it to cater to a lot of different interests and activities over the freshers period?

During freshers, we aimed to cater to everyone. We had a wide array of events made to appease every kind of gamer that we could think of. We had members clashing head to head in FIFA and Mario Kart in the library, others furiously grinding ranked in our arena, and some members enjoying a good old session of ROBLOX in our casual room! Of course this isn't EVERYTHING we had going on, but it goes to show the amount of effort we had put in to make our space a safe and comfortable environment for every kind of gamer. :)

Moving on, the NSE Winter split is right around the corner - how has prep for the tournaments been going?  

Winter NSE is indeed around the corner and best believe we're ready. We've ran trials for most games within the circuit and we're assembling our best and brightest, who're raring to compete. Over the course of a week, we've had many dynamic and exciting trials with extremely high turnouts, which obviously means we're coming with multiple teams. Beware everyone, we're coming to win. >:)

Looking forward to seeing you guys compete! You mentioned an arena: what is this and how does it work with the society? 

Our gaming arena is the pride and joy of our society. It boasts of 15 high end PCs available to all of our members for a one time payment for the duration of the whole academic year. The arena is open the whole day and it's there to enable people to come whenever they're free e.g. between lectures, and get some relaxation/quick grinding in. I'm very proud of our arena and I have some extremely fond memories of it during my past 2 years at Roehampton. It's definitely the core attraction of our society, and all of our members cherish it dearly.

On the theme of 'fresh'ers (get it?), and to wrap things up, which Pot Noodle flavour do you think would make the best fragrance and/or body wash?

As for fragrance.. I'd have to go with Bombay Bad Boy. It sounds (and tastes :v) explosive and definitely would be a method to turn heads your way. Granted you may not be able to smell much of anything else, but at least you have an unforgettable scent! 

For bath wash however.. I'm going with chicken and mushroom. It's the OG, and has a nice and mellow scent. Definitely the kind of smell you wouldn't mind going to sleep smelling like after a long day.
